If America is going to stay competitive in the global economy, we need more students graduating with a degree, not debt. That’s why Louise is committed to making sure all New Yorkers have access to a high-quality and affordable education.

Louise helped pass the College Cost Reduction and Access Act, which cut interest rates in half on Stafford student loans.

Now she’s leading the national effort to save the Perkins Loan, a low-interest loan that has made college affordable for generations of low-income students, including nearly 50,000 students every year in New York.
