Rochester, NY (WROC)The country is still buzzing following the Supreme Court’s landmark decision on same-sex marriage. On Friday, by a five-to-four vote, the court ruled that same-sex couples nationwide have the right to marry in all 50 U.S. states. State and local officials on both sides of the issue have been commenting on the decision. News 8 caught up with Congresswoman Louise Slaughter today in Rochester to get her reaction.
“We are all born equal, and I am delighted about it because every step we make towards equality is a step toward a stronger America,” said Slaughter.
New York state legalized same-sex marriage in 2011.
