GOP-Controlled House Votes to Repeal Health Law
"The American People are crying out for jobs and economic opportunity and we continue to waste our time and theirs on votes such as this," said Slaughter. "The Majority dragged its feet in advancing a transportation bill that creates hundreds of thousands of jobs and has not taken up a single substantive jobs bill, yet we have had 31 votes this term focused on taking lifesaving access to health care away from the American people. I certainly hope that this is the last time we will be asked to vote on the repeal effort. Let's get to the real business at hand - advancing bipartisan legislation that stimulates the economy and gets Americans back to work. Anything less does a grave disservice to the people we were sent here to represent."
