Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and local business leaders are expected to give an announcement on the Port of Rochester Thursday morning. Plans to dredge the Port of Rochester will be released. Large ships used to bring in raw materials have not been able to access the port because it has been too shallow. Slaughter's plan will get the buildup of sediment in the channel removed this spring.
